In the Fall I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Mulder, an incredibly talented local jewelry designer! I was thrilled when Sarah reached out to feature me as part of the Style Stories series on her blog and felt privileged to style a few of her stunning pieces! All of her collections are handcrafted in her Vancouver design studio and each has a unique style. It was so difficult to choose a select number of pieces to style for the shoot as each item is prettier than the last, but after much thought I finally decided on pieces from Sarah’s Adore Collection; the leaf bracelet and earrings have an organic feel that perfectly reflected the time of year and the necklaces have a classic vibe, they’re beautiful and eye catching while still being understated. Be sure to head over to Sarah’s blog to read my full Style Story, where I chat about how I started blogging (on my original blog Pearls & Lace) along with my go to fashion and home decor trends! A huge thank you to Kim of Kim James Photography for the beautiful photos!
2014 was a whirlwind of a year, I launched my photography business and rebranded my blog. Aside from 2012, the year my husband and I were married, this has been my busiest year yet! From working my day job, to growing my business, I had little spare time…but I wouldn’t change it for the world. It’s energizing and inspiring working on something that solely benefits you, rather than working crazy hard for the benefit of someone else.
We were blessed to travel back to Hawaii once again this year to celebrate our second wedding anniversary in the very place we were married; Maui is by far my favorite place, it inspires me and I always come home feeling as though I can accomplish anything. Another highlight of 2014 was finally meeting my blogger twin, Maya of Charmingly Styled, in person! We had so much fun on our girls trip and I’m looking forward to visiting Chicago in 2015! As we say farewell to 2014, I’m reflecting on a few of the happiest moments and looking back at a few of my favorite outfits from the year! Excited for all that 2015 will bring!
I’ve been dying to share this stunning styled shoot by Simply Sweet Photography since the gorgeous photographer, Nomo Akisawa, contacted me to feature it! I was instantly head over heels for the airy palate of white, pale pink and gold and the airiness and light of the photos. There are simply too many beautiful details to handle, from the prettiest handmade tulle skirts by Beautulleful to the delicious (and oh so adorable) gold-topped cotton candy from Petite Puf! The Cross Decor & Design provided the perfect backdrop for this shoot, it’s gorgeous interior is filled with the loveliest furniture and accessories, I could spend an entire day in the store and still not see every pretty item. Not a detail was spared, from the vintage tea cups to the adorable table for two, thanks to Taffete Designs‘ impeccable styling! Hair and make up were completed to utter perfection by the ever so talented Jasmine Hoffman and Annie Mili of The Hair Whisperer and all the swoon-worthy jewelry (those earrings are simply too pretty for words) was crafted by Jeweliette! Every single image is beyond dreamy and will leave you in a trance of pretty – view the full gallery here!
