Home for the Holidays

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends! I feel blessed to have family who lives close by, meaning my husband and I travel very little over the holidays…which translates to more time spent in our pjs, drinking coffee around the fire. Christmas is by far my favourite holiday, I love decorating our apartment in shades of white and gold, seeing all the pretty lights and spending time with friends who are home for the holidays. It’s also my favourite time to reflect on all that I’m grateful for and donate to those who are less fortunate, which is what I believe Christmas is truly about.

Now that Christmas has passed, holiday sales are in full swing. If you’ve had your eye on something now might be the time to snatch it up! In Canada, Boxing Day  Week is the equivalent of Black Friday in the US, so there are tons of deals to be had this week! A few of my favorite stores are having wonderful sales so if you’re looking for a bargain, don’t miss out! I snagged a pair of leather pants, suede flats, a floppy wool hat and a blazer – all on sale!

J.Crew – Extra 40% off winter sale
Kate Spade – 25% off sale items
Aritzia – Up to 50% off all items
Zara – Sitewide sale
Loft – 50% off all items
Banana Republic – 50% off all items

Girls Trip with Charmingly Styled

Welcome to my new blog, A Dash of Dior! I’m so excited to unveil my rebranding today, it’s been a labour of love and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with you! A Dash of Dior will remain an extension of my personal style, a place where I’ll continue to share my favourite fashion and home decor trends as well as photos from my travels. I have so many special posts planned over the next couple weeks including the most beautiful styled shoot at one of my all time favourite stores!

Recently I had the pleasure of planning a girls trip with my blogger twin, Maya of Charmingly Styled! Maya and I met through our blogs over two years ago and instantly became friends. Although we live far apart (she’s in Chicago and I’m in Vancouver), distance didn’t seem to hinder our friendship and after too many Skype dates and Rifle Paper cards to count, we decided it was high time we met in person! After hours of planning, plane tickets were booked and Maya was on her way to my hometown, Vancouver! Our trip was split between three beautiful cities; Vancouver, Whistler and Seattle. Our days were packed with shopping (our favourite pastime), delicious bites and exploring. Below are a few of the highlights from our girls trip and must visit places if you’re ever visiting any of the cities! Our trip flew by and before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye; after many hugs and promises to Skype soon, Maya was on her way back to Chicago. I’m already counting down to our next girls trip; Chicago & NYC in 2015!

Pearls & Lace is Rebranding!

Jen-5It’s hard to find the words to describe how amazing it’s been to have Pearls & Lace as a creative space to share my fashion and lifestyle inspiration over the last two and a half years! Not a day goes by that I’m not eternally grateful for the amazing people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting through my little corner of the internet! I can safely say that my life wouldn’t be nearly as wonderful without your continuous words of encouragement and support with my blog and my newfound business!

Having said that, Pearls & Lace has been in need of a facelift for quite some time but instead of just jumping right into a redesign, I wanted to spend some time reflecting on the brand and experience I wanted to create when readers visit my blog. After a little reflection, I knew that my aesthetic and style have evolved over the last two and a half years and for my blog to continue to be a true representation of who I am, I needed to rebrand! Things will be a little quiet around here while I put the finishing touches on my new blog, in the meantime you can always follow along on Instagram or Pinterest if you’re in need of a little inspiration!

I’m so excited to share my new blog with you and know you’ll love it as much as I do! Thanks again for being such amazing readers as Pearls & Lace has evolved, it’s been a wonderful journey and I can’t wait for it to continue on my new blog!

Much love, jen xx
